At first I was stunned and amazed, then... I was a little confused.

Drawing with Hassan, definite 10/10 work, the combination of real-time and montage work was perfectly balanced, and the finished product was one of those minor-masterpieces that so few artists are skilled enough to show off with when being filmed.

On the downside of the video itself; my eyes! The camera auto exposure killed the details dead...

Recommendations for next video would be to turn that off, and have a fixed camera position (play with the zoom and point of interest still, but having a tripod or even a gorilla-pod would be fantastic, actually scratch tripod, go for a mono-pod, because you can move it all over, but the single point of contact would give you clean and jog-free movement), both would improve the quality without influencing resolution or file size.

All in all though, much like the gashu-pod broadcast, having a way to reach out to people like this is brilliant.

And once again, I have to marvel at Hass and his ability... honestly, the man's a marvel.

Thanks ^_^ but unfortunatly I did think forward and knew there were things against us when doing it, considering we did it in a 11x11ft room housing 4 laptops, 1 computer, wildlife a full table full of random goods etc but I've listed the answers to the problems which I couldn't help :3

1. Tripod was used apart from the panning shot of "B.E.V"
2. Youtube downed the quality the original footage is fine.
3. Focus issue was to do with the artificial lighting, which had an inconsistancy because it was done as the natural light from a window was deminishing, this the over exposure from the artificial light.
4. Can't afford a Monopod... yet.
5. Fixed position was a hard one cosidering the aspect ratio of 16:9 and a portrait picture, plus it wasn't higher than Hassans seat so I couldn't get a birds eye shot and had to comprimise with having the tripod actually have a leg between hassans legs to which he accidentally shifted the tripod
6. battery died and I lost the previous position.

All in all trial and error, was fun to do and edit and the different stages of production had its hillarious outtakes. Thanks for the feedback

That's our Director for you, all my questions and comments answered in short, accessible sentences.

I knew you were inside, but I didn't realise quite how small you were working with... is there no chance you could get a spare room at a college to work in? If you told them what it was for in the right terms, you could probably get that.

As for lighting, what I meant was that the exposure goes up and down like a yoyo whenever Hass moved his hand, it was a little distracting, and often blew out the fainter parts of the drawing. I don't really have an answer to it though, so if you don't either then ignore me ^^

Other than that, though, I'm being far too critical of the GG's first tutorial video, this is a fantastic event!!

Haha when you refer the the lighting exposure making the pencil lines invisible was because Hassan was leaning intowards the overhead lamp we used, was causing a shadow kind of thing bending the light... :/ I think using light from two directions would stop that, but the camera would have to be dead centre otherwise it will just repeat over. Plus pencil lines are always poor on camera anyway, pastles are normally used.

Critiques are perfect makes me determained to get it right the next time and ofcourse this will not be the only series I plan to get into production either, I'll talk more on that later though

Also, as for the space, Im not in college anymore, and Hassans uni would be the only other option, but I don't get into london enough to do constant work, but I am sure myself Hass and Toad can come up with something, next time I am in london, I R poor atm.

Follow the plan! Inking next, then... planning a page!

Rather than just a single image, plan out a page of manga (fake or not) and do a step-by-step of how you lay it out, draw it up, ink it and add speech. Just make sure that it has plenty of difference, like an action sequence while taunting. Meaning you have text, movement, and maybe even the start of an attack, see?

It's what we do at Gashu, so why not demonstrate how you manage to tie it together ^^
